Two visitors to Ballito beach, were spotted by an angler, struggling to swim in the early hours of Friday morning.
As a result, they were swept out to sea.
The angler rescued one and search and rescue crews, have been searching for the man, since just after 5am, on Friday.
The National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) said the missing man is around 40 years old and is from Carolina in Mpumalanga. He was with his 13 -year old nephew when the incident happened.
