Tropical Cyclone Fytia has landed in Mahajanga, Madagascar and is moving East-Southeast.

Experts at the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO)-designated Regional Specialised Centre (RSMC) estimated maximum wind speed of the cyclone, would average 120 km/h.

Gusts at sea would amount to about 165 km/h.

The system brings along extreme rainfall and wind gusts.

Meteorologists said Fytia is the first West-to-East cyclone since the start of 2025.
