Protesting residents of Ngangelizwe, in the Eastern Cape, are burning tyres on public roads and damaging Municipal infrastructure.
They are up in arms about permanent housing for families affected by recent floods.
Others demand electricity.
The King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality said on Monday, a contractor was appointed to repair fallen electricity poles caused by a storm two weeks ago.
Inaccessible roads in Mthatha are N2 Ultra City, R61 Mthatha West and Bypass Road, R61 Mthatha East, Tutor Ndamase intersection, Tembu Road and Bernad Schultz Drive.
