Joburg authorities visited the sinkhole in Orlando East, Soweto, this week.
Dada Morero, the Mayor of Joburg conducted oversight visits to a developing sinkhole at the corner of Mvubu and Mpinga streets.
It is becoming an illegal dumping site, negatively affecting the area between Moroka Nancefield Road, SofaSonke Street, and Khumalo Road.
This is one of 400 sinkholes in the City of Johannesburg.
There are more elsewhere in Gauteng, such as some 5,000 reported in the province.
