Floods caused damage in the Joe Morolong, part of the John Tailo District, in the Northern Cape, over the long weekend.
Some households were submerged and roads flooded.
The Department of Roads and Public Works in the Northern Cape, said affected residents were safely evacuated.
No fatalities were reported as a result.
Fufe Makatong, MEC for Roads and Public Works as well as Bentley Vass, his counterpart at the Cooperative Governance Department, visited flood-affected communities, over the weekend.
They visited the flooded MR947 (Dithakong Road) from the N14 towards Dithakong, as well as communities at Heiso, Colston, Pietersehem, Ga-Ramotsokwane, Ga-Khoe, Ga-Matolong and Sehakong villages.
Several roads are also temporarily closed, including the MR947 (Dithakong Road).
