The deadline for the submission of comments for the Nuclear Power Project, is less than a month away.
The proposed Eskom Nuclear Power Plant, has a capacity of up to 5,200 Megawatts (MW).
The project is proposed at Thyspunt in the Kouga Local Municipality, in the Eastern Cape and in Bantamsklip in the Overstrand Local Municipality (Western Cape), under application reference DFFE Ref: 14/12/16/3/3/2/2806.
The review period was extended to the 25 May 2026, from the original closing date of 5 May 2026.
This provides additional time for interested and affected parties to review the Draft Scoping Report (DSR) and submit meaningful comments.
There will also be a Virtual Meeting for Stakeholders on the 28 April 2026 from 18:00 to 20:00 via Microsoft Teams (Meeting ID: 346 295 222 692 566; Passcode: 4qm62Cx9), followed by a second meeting on 29 April 2026 from 15:00 to 17:00 (Meeting ID: 311 970 863 358 913; Passcode: Sk6rq353).
