Mining companies refurbished parts of the Dannhauser Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal.
The companies refurbished and expanded the Langalibomvu Secondary School and the Nhlabane Road project.
Gwede Mantashe, the Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources is expected to officially hand over the social and labour projects, on Thursday.
The Department said in a statement, this programme forms part of Government’s commitment to improve education outcomes and community infrastructure.
The Dannhauser Local Municipality said on Thursday morning, it is honoured to welcome Minister Gwede Mantashe, Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, and Deputy Minister Phumzile Mgcina, Deputy Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, during their visit to Imana High School in Ward 7.
“The visit provided an important opportunity to engage with learners, and educators, on matters that contribute to education, youth empowerment, and leadership. As part of the programme, Minister Gwede Mantashe donated school shoes to learners, a meaningful gesture aimed at supporting their educational journey and promoting dignity among young people.”
