The cause of a fire at the Elwin Manufacturers on Great North Road, Brentwood Park, is still under investigation.
The plant, which manufactures and refurbishes oil transformers, went up in smokes on Friday afternoon, at around 16:50.
The City of Ekurhuleni said firefighters responded immediately and obliterated the blaze.
No one was injured in the industrial fire.
Later on Friday evening, a separate motor vehicle collision occurred near the same location, resulting in 3 injuries.
The Great North Road has been temporarily closed to allow emergency services access to the scene and to ensure public safety.
