The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) announced the partial reopening of the N14 between Kuruman and Vryburg, since Friday.

The road was closed after recent floods, but a thin layer of water remains on some sections of the road.

As a result, SANRAL said only motor vehicles can use the road, at a temporary speed limit of 60 km/h.

Heavy vehicles are not allowed on the road.

SANRAL also said technical assessments and material testing are underway to determine the full extent of the damage caused by floods.
