About fifty (50) bodies, mostly of children, were recovered in Nigeria’s northwestern Sokoto state, on Thursday.

They died after a vessel transporting farm workers capsized near Gorau in the Goronyo Local Government Area.

Authorities say the vessel was headed to Gorau town when the accident happened.

Although investigations continue into the cause of the accident, speculation is rife that the boat might have been overloaded.

Local divers and emergency services continue looking for missing people.

Hundreds lost their lives in Zambia, on Thursday, when a gold mine collapsed in Zamboye, at the border of Cameroon and the Central African Republic (CAR).
