Petrol and diesel prices are increasing from Wednesday, this week.
The Department of Minerals and Energy (DMRE) confirmed price hikes on Monday.
Consumers will pay R1,34 cents more for both grades of petrol (93 and 95).
They will pay R2,94 cents extra for diesel (0,05% sulphur) and R3,15 cents for diesel (0,005% sulphur).
Paraffin is scheduled to increase by R2,13 cents while Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) by 69 cents per kilogram and 79 cents in the Western Cape.
Gwede Mantashe, Minister of the Department of Minerals and Petroleum (DMRE) said the price adjustment was informed by international and national factors.
The average Brent Crude oil price globally increased to $87,88 from $82,37.
He also said the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war also contributed to a hike in the Basic Fuel Prices (BFP) of petrol, diesel and illuminating paraffin.
This is despite the appreciation of the rand against the US dollar.
