The African Development Bank (AFDB) joined 50th celebrations of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).

Speaking at the celebration event, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the AFDB said the acronym of SFD, stands for “supportive, friendly and dedicated” which he said depicts the fund. 

The fund’s 50th anniversary celebration, was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Sunday.

“The Saudi Fund for Development translates the pulse of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to supporting development in Africa. Its work covers 407 projects in 41 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with support of over $5.3 billion” said Adesina.

The OPEC Fund (OF), also wished the fund well.
The OF also hosted a Nature-Solutions Finance Hub’s very first partners forum, on Friday, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank.
