The Chief Albert Luthuli said tests conducted concluded the Boesmanspruit dam is indeed contaminated.
Fish were found dead in the dam, in December.
While the Municipality awaits for expert advice on how to treat the contamination, the Municipality said it would supply water from boreholes.
Ephraim Thabethe, Municipal Manager, said residents are urged to use water wisely during this time and avoid the Boesmanspruit dam.
