The South African Police Service (SAPS) has applauded the community of Seshego, for the arrest of 2 suspected female poachers.
Other social media users also joined in, such as the Africa Wildlife and Books Africa Group, and more.
The two, one 37 years of age and the other, 44, were caught with a pangolin in Seshego, a media statement from the South African Police Service (SAPS) said.
Although their names were withheld, they were nabbed outside Polokwane, on Friday 12 July 2024, trying to sell a dead Pangolin for R 125 000-00.
SAPS said in a statement that members of the community provided crucial information to the police alerting them to the illegal activity.
The suspects appeared before Seshego Magistrate’s Court on 15 July 2024, where they were charged with the contravention of the National Environmental Management Biodiversity Act 10 of 2004.
Police investigations continue.
