The community of Ivory Park in Midrand, still has no water flowing in taps.

This is after Johannesburg Water (JW), found water was contaminated.

The community of Sisonke Street, in Ivory Park’s Extension 9 was alerted not to drink the water.

JW then fixed related pipes and took more water samples.

“Residents are advised that the sewer blockages experienced in the area, are largely caused by foreign objects, disposed of into the sewer system” JW said in a notice to residents, on Monday.

Residents have been consuming from water tanks.

In February, residents took to the streets protesting against regular water supply interruptions.
