Envusa Energy, a joint venture between between EDF Renewables (South Africa) and Anglo American, has begun the installation of wind turbine generators and blades at its Umsobomvu Wind Farm – part of the Koruson 2 cluster in the Northern Cape.

The company shared pictures of installation work of about 81-meter-long, 30-tonne blades, using a 600-tonne crane towering 120 meters high.

Once completed both the company’s projects at the Farm, will feature 50 Nordex N163/5.X turbines, expected to generate about 295 Megawatts (MW) of wind energy.
