A fire broke out in the Kogmanskloof Mountains, Ashton, at 8:30 am, on the 16 September 2025.
The Cape Winelands Municipality said its firefighting teams and those from Langeberg, are using four vehicles, among other resources deployed, to extinguish flames.
The fire is propelled by strong winds and thick vegetation, spreading to a current two lines- one towards Montagu and the other, towards Barrydale.
The Municipality said there is currently no immediate danger to property or infrastructure.
