The generous support of the Fondation Hans Wilsdorf, has enabled the IUCN to launch a second call for proposals, under its SOS Lemurs initiative, to support targeted conservation action for Madagascar’s threatened lemurs.

The call is open until Wednesday 9 July 2025 at 14:00 PM CEST.

The call is also to organisations seeking medium grants.

IUCN said approximately ten projects led by civil society organisations will be selected, each eligible for up to CHF 100,000 in funding for activities lasting a maximum of 24 months.

Selected projects are expected to commence no later than December 2025.

Projects must be implemented in Madagascar and focus on improving the conservation status of lemurs listed as Vulnerable (VU), Endangered (EN), or Critically Endangered (CR) on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

Running until June 2029, the SOS Lemurs Phase II aims to strengthen conservation efforts for lemurs through financial support, capacity building, and partnerships with local civil society organisations.
