Lieutenant- General Puleng Dimpane, is the Acting National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), with immediate effect.
President Cyril Ramaphosa, accompanied by Acting Minister of Police Professor Firoz Cachalia, announced this latest development, in the media on Thursday.
She has replaced Fannie Masemola, who was placed on precautionary suspension following charges related to the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
Dimpane is currently the SAPS Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Divisional Commissioner for Financial Management Services, since 2018.
