The Gauteng Provincial Joint Operating Committee (JOC) said on New Year’s day, there are a number of fallen trees and flooded roads in Gauteng.
These are Kempton Park, Benoni, Marlboro Drive, Sandton (over Jukskei River near N3 freeway) and Pomona.
“With rain set to continue, further flooding can be expected especially in low-lying areas.”
The JOC also advised residents and visitors to avoid unnecessary travel, due to poor weather conditions, and not to cross flooded roadways.
