Michael Madala Shingange is the newly elected President of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu).
Susan Khumalo is the first Deputy President and Mbali Blose (the second Deputy President).
Kgomotso Makhupola is the National Treasurer, Zingiswa Losi is the General Secretary and Gerald Mkhomasi Twala, the Deputy General Secretary.
Shingange’s recent positions include President of NEHAWU, since November 2021.
He was re-elected as the 1st Deputy President of COSATU, in 2022 and served as a Central Committee Member of the South African Communist Party (SACP) and Vice President of the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU), since March 2023.
