The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM) announced road closures on Tuesday, subsequent to last week’s floods.

The City is bracing for more disruptive rains, forecast by the South African Weather Service (SAWS).
Localised flooding is expected to affect roads and settlements in Koukamma, Kouga and parts of Nelson Mandela Bay, in the Eastern Cape.

Roads closed are in Gqeberha and Kariega.

Gqeberha:
1. Mhlolokotshane Street, KwaDwesi – Closed
2. Main Road, Old Bethelsdorp – Open
3. Calpurina Drive – Open
4. 3rd Avenue Dip – Closed
5. Hurt Street,  Sidwell – Open

Kariega:
1. 22nd Avenue, KwaLanga – Closed
2. Cuyler Street Bridge – Closed
3. Fourie Street – Closed
4. Ponanatini Road – Open
5. Intersection at Ponanatiti and Matanzima Roads – Closed
6. Durban Street and Gibbon Road – Closed
7. Uitenhage Road and M4 on-ramp – Closed
