Mpumalanga
Storms and strong winds left 4 dead and hundreds displaced in Mpumalanga.
Sunday’s storm in Acornhoek destroyed an estimated 400 houses and 40 schools in Buffelshoek, Baromeng,Chochocho and Tsakani village in Acornhoek.
Eskom in Mpumalanga said on Tuesday afternoon, various villages in the Bushbuckridge area are without electricity supply following heavy rain and thunderstorms.
” Our technicians are on-site and we do not yet have the estimated time of restoration” said in a notice to residents.
Eastern Cape
While Tuesday’s rains increased dam levels in parts of the Eastern Cape, it also led to a power outage in Nelson Mandela Bay.
The Impofu dam received over 50 mm in some places in Langkloof, although it is only 40,85% full(according to the Weather Guru). In addition, the Kouga dam (100.22%) is spilling at 2 460 litre per second, Loerie dam is 101.39%, Churchill dam is 99.52% and Groendal about 100% full.
The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality’s Electricity and Emergency department said circuit breakers tripped at Chatty/Rowallan Park, Chelsea/Arlington and Bethelsdorp/ Ditchling substations.
This left some areas in the dark, including Summerstrand, Arlington, Lorraine and Chelsea substations, affecting about 61 suburbs.
At 8pm on Tuesday evening, Sithembiso Soyaya, Spokesperson of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality, said back feeding was done and all supply to the respective areas was restored.
However, two of the high-voltage 132kV lines, are still out, and a team is on the ground for fault-finding and possible repairs.

Limpopo
Three people were injured in a destructive hailstorm in Mashite Village, in Limpopo.
In the Greater Letaba Municipality, 25 households were damaged by Sunday’s storm.
This emerged at a gathering held on Tuesday by multiple stakeholders including Mopani District Municipality, Department of Social Development, Ward Councillors, Ward Committes and South African Social Security Agency.
Other affected areas in the municipality are Mamaila, Seaphole, Rotterdam, Boshakge, Sekgothi, Ga-Mothobeki, Ga-Mabulana, Tlatsa, Taulome, Medingen and Ga Mohokone.
Musina
The Municipality’s Traffic and Licencing Building, along the N1 near China Mall, was one of several structures destroyed by Sunday’s storms.
