The Sani Mountain Escape posted pictures of snowfall, on Tuesday afternoon.
The facility quickly warned visitors to the pass to take extra care on wet, icy, and snowy roads and deliberately drive slowly.
Predicted rain also arrived in East London, where about 50mm was measured.
The Weather Service (SAWS) forecast rainfall of between 30 mm to 70 mm, into Wednesday.
This amount of rainfall was also confirmed at the Yellow Sands Caravan Park near Gonubie.
But several accidents were recorded on the Eastern Cape’s roads, including on the N10 near the Alicedale turn off, where a bakkie hit the back of a truck that had broken down.
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport also confirmed a head-on collision on the N2 near Mooiplaas, just outside KuGompo City, where six people died.
The road remained closed on Tuesday-as rescue, recovery and crash investigation teams continued their work.
The Buffalo Bay Municipality urged motorists to avoid crossing flooded roads or bridges and not to attempt to drive through water-covered roads.
More rains (at Level 6) are expected along the coast and adjacent interior between East London (Eastern Cape) and Cape Vidal (KwaZulu Natal).
Disruptive snow is also expected over the north-eastern high-ground of the Eastern Cape and Drakensberg in KwaZulu Natal.
