The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) is urging motorists to exercise caution when travelling on Ivory and Ebony Park, Midrand.
Residents of the area, have blocked Republic Road, with burning tyres, rocks and debris, in protest of ongoing water outages in the area.
JMPD said its officers are monitoring the situation.
Motorists are urged to rather use alternative routes.
