The Orange-Vaal Water Users Association is expected to receive the World Heritage Irrigation Structures Award, on Thursday, the 18 September 2025.
Pemmy Majodina, Minister of Water and Sanitation, is expected to officiate the handover.
The Association was awarded to South Africa, during the 9th Asian Regional Conference of ICID in Sydney, Australia.
Various organisations that work closely with the association, are expected to be in attendance, including the Water Research Commission(WRC), the South African National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (SANCID), the Departments of Agriculture (NDA), Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS), and the Agricultural Research Council (ARC), will hand over the WHIS award to the Orange-Vaal Water Users Association.
