Police announced the discovery of a ninth body, 23- year old, in Dawn Park, on the East Rand.
The police said a multidisciplinary team of experts was mobilised to work on the cases and ensure that those responsible for these crimes are brought before the court.
Various organisations and prominent figures raised alarm at the murder of the nine victims.
The South African Red Cross Society is one of the organisations standing against rape, femicide, sexual and gender-based violence.
Dressed in all black, the organisation joined multiple demonstrations against the killings.
The Tembisa Community Forum also staged sit-ins at police stations on the East Rand, including Rabasotho, Tembisa South, Norkem Park, Rabie Ridge and Olifantsfontein.
