Statistics South Africa launched the Sectoral Working Groups (SWGs) to tackle the technical know-how required for the country’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Report.
The report to be released in 2027, is expected to tell a story about South Africa’s sustainable development goals in numbers.
The report previously detailed figures pertaining to clean water and sanitation for households, energy access, sustainable cities, youth employment and more.
It will be the fifth national SDGs report since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015, building on reports published in 2017, 2019, 2023 and 2025.
Tuesday’s meeting brought together experts from government departments, academia, civil society and the private sector.
Stats SA said it is the national focal point for coordinating the SDGs reporting.
