The Rand Water Institute, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with K Water, South Korea, this week.

The signing was done by Dr Fawcett Ngoatje, Head of the Rand Water Institute, and Yang Dong-han, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in South Africa.

Through this agreement, both organisations plan to advance research, development, technology and innovation (RDTI), with an emphasis on smart water management, digitisation, and operational efficiency. 

South Africa’s water services authorities will gain innovative solutions, with a focus on reducing non-revenue water, advancing smart water network management systems and associated policy frameworks.

Cooperation extends to strengthening water resources management, improving facilities and infrastructure management, as well as integrating renewable energy solutions such as solar and hydropower into water operations.
