Roadwork is set to continue for a month, having begun on Monday, the 23rd February, between Baronetcy Boulevard and Uys Krige Drive in Plattekloof, as well as Vryburger Avenue (Southbound) between De Grendel Avenue and Bosmansdam Road, in Bothasig.
The work is planned to end on the 23 March 2026.
Nightwork kicks off between 19:00 and 05:30, from Monday to Friday.
Rob Quintas, the City’s Mayoral Committee member for Urban Mobility, said “residents and business owners in the Plattekloof and Bothasig area can expect some noise while works are under way, over the next few weeks. Our teams will do their best to complete the road resurfacing as efficiently as possible. Residents can look forward to this newly resurfaced portion of Plattekloof Road and Vryburger Avenue very soon. The City’s Road Infrastructure management teams will be working hard to get to as much of this important road maintenance work while the weather conditions remain favourable. We ask that the public remain patient while these projects are under way as we have a limited period of time during the year where we can push to complete as much of this work as possible. Maintaining these roads is one of the ways in which we keep Cape Town moving.”
The work includes the removal of damaged kerbs and the installation of new ones, as well as the replacement of selected and damaged channels.
