South Africa is hosting the Finance in Common Summit (FiCS) 2025 in Cape Town from 26 to 28 February.
This event is expected to bring together global leaders, development banks, and stakeholders to reimagine sustainable finance and drive inclusive growth.
With an annual funding gap of $100 billion for infrastructure in Africa, FiCS 2025 will explore solutions that align with the theme “Fostering Infrastructure and Finance for Just and Sustainable Growth.” This aligns closely with the G20’s focus on “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability.”
Hosted by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) alongside international co-hosts AIIB and AFD, the Summit aims to deliver actionable responses to climate change, sustainable development, and infrastructure challenges.
Boitumelo Mosako, CEO of DBSA, said “this summit is a watershed moment for Africa’s development finance future.”
