The only recorded remaining glaciers in Africa were in Kenya, Tanzania and in the Democratic Republic of Congo. But now, evidence of the world’s oldest glacier was found in South Africa.
Some scientists (science alert) believe glaciers were common in Southern Africa, about 300 million years ago, when the Region was joined at South America’s hip.
The latest find is not just any glacier, it is believed to be quiet old, dating back to some 3 billion years.
