There are several low reservoirs around Johannesburg.
This was confirmed by Johannesburg Water (JW), on Saturday.
The Lenasia Hospital Hill and Lenasia High Reservoirs, are among those not supplying, due to closure at the outlet, from 5pm on Saturday, into Sunday early morning.
JW said the overnight inflows did not improve in the Commando system. This has led to fluctuations at the Commando and Crosby pump station, which has resulted in poor water pressure at Brixton 1 and 2, as well as Hursthill 1 and 2.
JW said it has had to suspend pumping at the Brixton tower just so the system could recover.
Similarly, areas supplied by several other reservoirs have limited to no water, because the systems did not improve at all on Friday night, including the Central system, South Hills tower, Crown Gardens, Berea, Yeoville reservoirs 1, 2 and Alexander Park.
But the Hector Norris Pump Station improved overnight and so did some towers, including Waterval, Quellerina, Northcliff, Corriemoor and Witpoortjie.
Rand Water sounded the alarm about over-consumption since Thursday, but said some Municipalities have cut back to stay within agreed limits, including the City of Ekurhuleni, Metsimaholo, Govan Mbeki, Merafong, Lesedi, Ngwathe, Victor Khanye, the Royal Bafokeng Administration and Thembisile Hani.
