A sewer spillage at Groenvlei in Carolina was reported via social media, last week.
The Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality said its teams went to contain the spillage alongside the Municipal Manager, on Saturday.
The Municipality also said in addition, a street where the spillage occurred, was graded.
Thapelo Phetla, Spokesperson of the Municipality said “as a preventative measure, the team will continue trenching over the upcoming weekend for the construction of a storm drainage system, alongside comprehensive waste removal in the area.”
Residents are urged to exercise caution around the construction zones.
