Residents of the Western Cape can expect snowfall over high-lying areas and mountain peaks, from Saturday into next week.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS), said this may result in icy road conditions over the Beaufort West Municipality of the Western Cape.

Very cold, wet and windy conditions are expected over the interior of the Western Cape and Namakwa district of the Northern Cape, from Saturday the 07 June,  and over the Eastern Cape into Wednesday, the 11 June.

SAWS has also warned against damaging winds that may disrupt small harbours and ports, for short periods, between Saldanha Bay and Cape Agulhas from Friday evening into Saturday evening.
