Paul Mashitile, the Deputy President, is leading a campaign, for Clean Cities and towns from Kliptown, Soweto.

The campaign, builds on another- the “Bontle ke Botho” which supports service delivery through the District Development Model. 

This is expected to promote cleaner, greener, and more inclusive urban spaces. Its aim is to encourage citizens to come together for community cleaning activities throughout townships and villages. 

Mashatile said “cities are the engine of economic growth.”

‪Panyaza Lesufi, Premier of Gauteng and Dada Morero, Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg, and senior government officials, will also participate in clean-up activities. 

The events will include tree planting and cleaning at the Walter Sisulu Square.
