🌀A severe tropical storm is currently situated north-east of Madagascar, with destructive winds.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said wind speed is expected to be between 89 and 118 kilometers per hour.

It is expected to be a tropical cyclone by Saturday, the 11 January 2025.

According to the weather channel, AfriWx,  trajectories from the Joint Typhoon Warning Centre, Meteo-France and Cyclone (spaghetti model) indicate “Dikeledi” will move into the Mozambique channel and then South and South Easterly away from Southern Africa.

Islands on high alert are Madagascar, Mayotte and the Comores, who have had serious damage and losses caused by Tropical Cyclone Chido, last year.

Currently there is no threat to Southern Africa.
