The Western Cape Government announced two major roads were reopened, following damage by floods back in June.
The McGregor Bridge in Robertson, was reopened on Tuesday, as well as Road 1525 (Gouritsmond Road).
Tertius Simmers, MEC of Public Works, said the reopening, restores a vital transport link for residents, businesses and road users.
He also said construction teams remain on site to complete road markings and other finishing works.
“Please obey all temporary signage and exercise caution while these final works are underway” he said.
The recovery work of the Gouritsmond Road, included rebuilding a 90-metre section of the eastern approach, repairing erosion of up to five metres deep, and placing approximately 3 000 cubic metres of rockfill and bulk material.
There too, final works such as road markings and signage installation are still underway.
More than 100 of the 154 roads were reopened in the Province.
