The United States of America (US) launched an attack against Venezuela’s capital, Caracas and other cities on Saturday evening, local time.
The first strike was at El Libertados air base.
Donald Trump, US President, said the former president of Venezuela-Nicolas Maduro and his wife were “captured and flown out of the country.”
Reports claim Trump’s actions are to stop drugs from flowing into the US from Venezuela.
There has been global criticism on the attack, with viral videos of Venezuelan residents taking to the streets to protest against Trump.
On Christmas Day, Trump launched an attack in Nigeria, in the Sokoto State, claiming there were ISIS terrorists in that country.
General Dagvin Anderson, commander of US Africa Command, said his organisation is working closely with Nigerian and regional partners to increase counter-terrorism cooperation against ongoing violence and threats against innocent lives.
