There will be little to no water in taps across the Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, Mpumalanga.

The Municipality said this is due to an electrical upgrade at the Eesterhoek Water Treatment Works.

During the maintenance, pumping capacity at the plant will be temporarily reduced, in addition, some reservoirs may not fill to their normal capacity, which could affect supply even after the commissioning is completed.

During this period, the pumping capacity from the plant will be temporarily reduced. This means the municipality will not be able to pump water at the normal, required rate.

The Municipality has urged water be used sparingly.
