Residents of Blackheath, in Cape Town, are urged to store enough water, ahead of Monday’s water shutdown.
The City will turn off water for 5 days, starting on Monday, the 29th September at 6am until Friday, the 03rd October 2025, at 6pm. During this time, maintenance will be carried out at the Blackheath Water Treatment Plant.
Areas to be affected are Glen Garry and Newlands reservoirs.
But the City urged all Cape Town residents to reduce their consumption and use water sparingly, even though the City is topping up its distribution networks.
The City will also install new valves on College Road (between Carnie Road and Jane Avenue), resulting in a temporary shut-off of water, from Wednesday, 1 October 2025, from 09:00 to 18:00. Affected streets will be College Road, Doring Road, Flat Road, Plettenberg Way, Middel Road, Mabel Road and Tussen Road.
