Residents of Etete say a few minutes was enough for a storm to rip off roofs and topple trees in the area, on Saturday.
Resident Jessica Nair, wrote about her experience “yesterday we received news of the devastating effects of the storms on our community centre. In times like these we can also be grateful, thankful that our learners at Breakthrough Centre Academy were safe at home when the storm hit. We are so thankful to everyone of you who called to check on us and those who rallied around to assist us. We are overwhelmed at the extent of the damage in Etete… there are many other families who have been affected.”
Although assessments of the damage is underway, most reports of damaged roofs are in Khalafukwe and Palm Lakes Estate.
