Some 50,000 people are getting ready to be evacuated, as heavy rainfall continues in The Hunter and mid-north coast of New South Wales.

3 bodies were pulled out of a flooded Region in the Mid North Coast, located north of Sydney.

Pictures on social media show people on top of cars, houses and highway bridges, desperately trying to escape floodwaters.

The Weather Bureau has issued several flood warnings, including minor flood warnings across central and southern parts of NSW coast, into Friday.

Major Flood Warnings are for the Nambucca, Macleay, Hastings, Manning, Paterson Rivers and the Wollombi Brook, while moderate warnings are for the Orara, Bellinger, Gloucester, Williams, Lower Hunter, and Colo Rivers.

A Severe Weather Warning for heavy to locally intense rainfall also remains.
