Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria, has given its Nuclear Medicine Research Infrastructure (NuMeRI), a facelift, to be a one- stop-shop medical imaging facility, for cancer and TB drug development.
President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the facility on Tuesday, along with Aaron Motsoaledi- Minister of Health, Panyaza Lesufi – Premier of Gauteng, Nomantu Nkomo- Ralehoko, the MEC for Health in Gauteng.
The facility was developed in partnership with the Department of Health, Department of Science and Innovation, and the University of Pretoria as well as private partners.
The facility also has a refurbished cardio thoracic ward, which is part of the radiology department.
