A fire that broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning, around 3am, ravaged 200 informal homes, leaving 300 homeless.
The eThekwini Municipality’s Fire and Emergency Services, and Disaster Management teams, said the fire is believed to have been caused by a burning brazier, commonly known as an imbawula.
No injuries or fatalities were reported as a result of the fire.
