The City of Cape Town has advised residents to store up enough water,  as critical maintenance of water infrastructure in some of Cape Town’s suburbs, kicks off, on Monday, the 01st September until the 12th December 2025.

The City said its Water and Sanitation Directorate, appointed a contractor -Carp Civils, to conduct a pipe replacement project in Mabel Road and Middel Road, Rylands.

In addition, the City said there will be noise during working hours- 08:00am until 17:00, Monday to Friday.

There will be a temporary test shut-off of the water main to Protea Village in Brackenfell from 09:00 to 17:00 on Tuesday, 2 September 2025.

The contractor will be conducting field investigations in Paarden Eiland from 09:00 until 15:00 on Wednesday, 3 September 2025, affecting Manenberg, Bishop Lavis, Ravensmead West (Beaconvale, Parow Valley and Florida), Elsies River, Ruyterwacht and Paarden Eiland.

Zero-pressure tests (ZPT) and conditional assessments, will be conducted on Wednesday evening at 21:00 on Wednesday, 3 September 2025 until 04:00am on Thursday, 4 September 2025, affecting Masiphumelele, Sun Valley, Sunnydale, Chapman’s Bay Estate, Noordhoek and the area along the Main Road.
