Authorities in Fiji have warned residents that a trough of low pressure with widespread cloud and rain, will stay over the Southern and Central Eastern Division, into Monday.
The Fiji Meteorological Service heavy rains could lead to the flooding of drains and small streams.
Meteorologists have also warned against the flooding of properties in low-lying areas.
Low water and Irish crossings could become risky, and water levels are expected to rise on roads.
Fiji’s National Disaster Risk Management Office has been warning residents to stay on high alert for flash floods since October this year.
According to Southern Cross Insurance, Fiji has a tropical climate and is home to disease carrying mosquitoes, such as a Zika virus carrier (Aedes).
