Eskom announced efforts underway to investigate events that led to the death of an employee over the weekend.
Daphne Mokwena, Spokesperson of Eskom, confirmed both employees are from the Kriel Power Station.
She said “the employees are husband and wife and came under gunfire. Regretfully, the husband sustained fatal injuries while his wife was hospitalised and is receiving medical care.”
She also said members of the public must not jump to conclusions about the incident, calling speculation shrouding the incident, “inappropriate.”
