Three wind farms -San Kraal, Phezukomoya and Coleskop, part of Koruson 1, were commissioned.

EDF Power announced on Friday, that the farms will supply a combined 420 Megawatts (MW) of electricity from where they are located, between Noupoort and Middleburg.

The company also confessed the construction phase of the project, since 2021, was difficult, because it is at an altitude of over 1,600 metres high.

Over 110km of access roads had to be built, on hills and rocks.

EDF constructed the project in partnership with H1 Holdings, Gibb-Crede, and a local community trust.

This consortium also built the largest Main Transmission Substation (MTS) designed to create about 1,5 Gigawatts of renewable energy to the grid.
