South African designers Leon Kluge and Tristan Woudberg and their teams, are among exhibitors at the 29th Spring Flower Show, which officially opened at the Nanjing Botanical Garden, Mem. Sun Yat-Sen.
The show goes on until April 20, featuring over 40 varieties and nearly 350,000 tulips, in celebration of Spring.
Last year, Kluge and Woudberg’s “Living Contours” garden, featured a 100-square-metre display, merging African and Chinese plants.
They won a Grand Gold Award.
Kluge shared pictures showing construction of the SA exhibition, on Saturday.
The show also highlights China’s own botanical wonders including the Plum Garden at the China National Botanical Garden (North Garden), which is in its blooming season. It is located at the entrance of Cherry Valley,home to over 80 plum varieties and more than 1,100 trees.
Another botanical discovery has been made in Rong’an County, south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
There, about 1,000 Cyathea spinulosa, were found thriving across an area of about 10 mu (0.7 hectares).
This ancient woody tree fern has existed for over 300 million years.
